How it all began

Nellie and Taylor first met in the Fall of 2013, at the Foster study lounge at TCU, where Taylor and his best friend, now best man, Jack Gail, lived. As Taylor and his friends were studying, a group of Pi Phis walked into the room to hijack the TV and turn on the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. He turned to their friend, Shelby, and asked “who is that tall blonde?” “That’s Nellie” she said. Something told Taylor that she had been asked that question before… From that day forward, Taylor’s four year distraction began. The couple spent their college years building a special friendship that was to last forever, without any clue where the future may take them. As their friendship grew and evolved over time, more and more memories were made with their friends over endless trips, formals, tailgates, etc.

Fast forward to May 2017, Nellie and Taylor graduated and both moved to Dallas to start their professional careers. Nellie started working at Neiman Marcus in their Executive Development program and Taylor started working at IBM in their Summit Sales Training program. A couple years later, in May 2019, after they had settled into their careers, Nellie and Taylor were invited to the Kentucky Derby, along with many of their close TCU friends. On the last day of the trip, Taylor asked Nellie to be his girlfriend, and the two started dating.

The couple spent the past five years making many more memories together, this time, as more than friends. These five years involved a lot of travel, weddings, trips to St. Louis and the Bay Area, some career changes, and even a long distance engagement. Through each adventure, easy times and hard, Nellie and Taylor grew closer to one another, while supporting each other’s dreams and ambitions.

Speaking of dreams, Nellie moved to New York City in June of 2023 to work for American Express after finishing her MBA at SMU. Taylor stayed in Dallas to continue his new career in Private Banking, following in the footsteps of his parents. After settling into their new lifestyle, Taylor proposed to Nellie on November 24, 2023, on the rooftop of Fouquet’s in Tribeca, NY. Their families, and maid of honor, Tess Kevorkian, flew in to surprise Nellie and celebrate the special occasion. Their love for family is something that bonded the couple from the start and they couldn’t imagine that day without them. Both Nellie and Taylor also appreciated the love that had been modeled to them their whole lives by their parents, who have both celebrated over thirty years of marriage.

Nellie and her mother, Elaine, quickly got to planning their special day in Lake Tahoe, CA. Tahoe has always been a major part of the Davis’ lives and it quickly became a special part of Nellie and Taylor’s life after they started dating. Now, the couple is overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share their special place with their closest family and friends, and commit their love and lives to one another. Nellie and Taylor thank their family, friends, God, and Southwest Airlines, for bringing them together and supporting their relationship. Most importantly, they thank everyone, for making the trip out to Lake Tahoe to celebrate.
